Continuation of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for homeless people

After a first vaccination campaign for the homeless on 1 and 2 June 2021 at the "Wanteraktioun" premises, said campaign by the mobile teams of the Directorate of Health was been extended in order to reach a maximum number of people in very precarious situations who, for health reasons, geographical distance or other reasons, were unable to visit the "Wanteraktioun" premises. Three additional vaccination missions were therefore organised by the mobile vaccination teams of the Directorate of Health as well as the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region, in close collaboration with the actors in the field.

On 16, 19 and 20 July, 160 people were vaccinated with the single-dose Janssen vaccine (Johnson&Johnson).

For these interventions, and with the aim of getting closer to people in very precarious situations, the mobile teams were present at the Caritas social bistro in Bonnevoie, at Abrigado in Luxembourg-City and in the south of the country at the parish house in Esch-sur-Alzette.

Each mobile vaccination team consisted of a mobile team leader and an administrative and logistical assistant from the Luxembourg Army, the CGDIS or the Customs office.
