The municipalities of Bettembourg, Bourscheid, Roeser, Steinsel and Strassen are the first to receive their "Citizen's Guide", drawn up in collaboration between the municipalities, Syvicol and the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region. In addition, the municipalities of Biwer, Bous and Bissen are ready to receive their "Citizen's Guide", but had to excuse themselves for the official handover ceremony.

In her speech, the Minister for Family Affairs and Integration thanked all those who had contributed to the creation of the "Citizen's Guide" and reminded everyone how useful such a guide is for all newcomers to the municipality in order to find their way around, to feel at home, but also to take their first steps towards active participation in local life. The guide provides information on the services offered by the municipality and at the same time gives information on how to get involved.

The "Citizen's Guide" is primarily intended for new residents of a municipality. In an informative part, it invites them to discover the municipality by providing information on its composition, local infrastructures, education, culture, associations and by giving an overview of the activities on offer. In the second part, which is interactive and fun, the guides proposes ideas for getting involved and for interaction between citizens, in volunteering, learning, practising languages or political participation.

The "Citizen's Guide" for the next ten municipalities is currently being finalised and will be printed at the beginning of May: Bech, Beckerich, Boulaide, Clervaux, Colmar-Berg, Consdorf, Diekirch, Dudelange, Pétange and Wiltz. This was done in alphabetical order and by expression of interest.

In the coming months, each municipality involved in the project will receive a personalised "Citizen's Guide".
