Founded in 1981 with the aim of creating special education classes for children with autism, Autisme Luxembourg asbl has greatly diversified its activities over the past 40 years. The association, approved by the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region, has several sheltered workshops, a home assistance service, an information, communication and meeting service and a residential home, to name but a few.

In her speech, Corinne Cahen congratulated Autisme Luxembourg asbl. for 40 years of commitment to autism. She particularly emphasised the importance of promoting the autonomy and independence of people with autism. "We must continue to raise awareness and promote inclusion so that people with autism have the opportunity to participate in all areas of social life with as much help as necessary but as little as possible.”
