The Winter Action ("Wanteraktioun") is a humanitarian action by the Government that has been continually implemented every winter since 2001. Its aim is to prevent homeless people from succumbing to hypothermia during periods of very cold weather.
The Winter Action usually starts on 1 December and ends on 31 March.
Since 1 January 2021, the management of the Winter Action has been entrusted to a new association, the Dräieck asbl. Created on 05.11.2020, the Dräieck association is constituted by Caritas Accueil et Solidarité, Croix-Rouge luxembourgeoise and Inter-actions.
The purpose of Dräieck asbl is the management of the multifunctional emergency structure in Findel, including the organization and management of the Winter Action. To this end, the association benefits from a convention with the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region.
