Max Hahn hands over the "Citizens' Guide" to nine additional municipalities

On 24 July 2023, Max Hahn, Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, handed out a personalised "Citizen's Guide" to nine municipalities. The handover to the first five municipalities took place in May 2023.

Bissen, Biwer, Boulaide, Bous, Clervaux, Diekirch, Dudelange, Pétange and Wiltz are the second set of municipalities to receive their "Citizen's Guide", drawn up in collaboration between the municipalities, SYVICOL and the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region. The municipalities of Consdorf and Bech have also received their 'Citizen's Guide', but had to excuse themselves for the official handover ceremony.

In his speech, the Minister for Family Affairs and Integration emphasised the important role played by local authorities in promoting harmonious living together between all citizens. Max Hahn also thanked all those who had contributed to the production of the "Citizen's Guide", pointing out that such a guide is useful for all newco The "Citizen's Guide" is primarily intended for new residents of a municipality. In an informative part, it invites them to discover the municipality by providing information on its composition, local infrastructures, education, culture, associations and by giving an overview of the activities on offer. In the second part, which is interactive and fun, the guides proposes ideas for getting involved and for interaction between citizens, in volunteering, learning, practising languages or political participation.mers to the municipality, to help them find their way around and feel at home, but also to help them take their first steps towards active participation in local community life. The guide provides information on the services offered by the local authority, as well as details of how to get involved.

The "Citizen's Guides" for the next ten municipalities are currently being finalised: Beckerich, Colmar-Berg, Ell, Mertzig, Préizerdaul, Rambrouch, Redange-Attert, Saeul, Useldange and Vichten. The process was carried out in alphabetical order and by expression of interest.

Over the coming months, each municipality taking part in the project will receive a personalised "Citizen's Guide".
